This week we welcome Tom Wax, a veteran of the German techno scene, to the Ibiza World Club Tour radio show. Tom Wax has always been one of the leading representatives of the electronic music scene in Germany and has inspired many DJs and producers worldwide with his unique sound between house and techno. Even after more than 30 years behind the DJ desk, he is still "on a mission" and proves this impressively with his current releases on labels such as Great Stuff, Bitten, Suara, Toca 45, Deeperfect, Plastic City, Amused or Phuture Wax. In the early '90s, Tom Wax was writing with his projects
Arpeggiators, Microbots or DJ Tom & Norman and today's classics "Cosmic Evolution", "Freedom Of Expression" or "Tales Of Mystery" on such labels as R&S Records, Harthouse Frankfurt or Overdrive Records electronic music history. With the AWeX project and the overtrack "It's Our Future" on the cult label Plastic City, he and his then partner Thorsten Adler made their international breakthrough in the mid-90s, and from the year 2000 Tom concentrated entirely on his solo project. Collaborations with Terry Lee Brown Jr.,The Timewriter, Mijk van Dijk, Dr. Motte, Marusha, Talla 2XLC, Boris Alexander, Ian Oliver, Simon Fava, JamX & DeLeon, Jennifer Pliester, Alex Stadler or Franksen as well as countless remixes for artists like Yello, Erasure, Jam&Spoon, Hardfloor, Sparks, Cosmic Baby, Mesh or John Starlight fill his multi-page discography with over 400 releases and remixes. In addition to his DJ gigs around the world, Tom Wax has hosted his own radio show since 2004. First at the youth broadcaster YOU FM, where he has been one of the resident DJs at the legendary "Club Night" since 2000, since 2010 he has been with the online radio Big City Beats FM with his show Phuture Sounds. Other important cornerstones of his more than 24-year career were the Music Discovery project in 2007 with starting conductor Parvo Järvi and the Hessen Radio Symphony Orchestra, his 8-year DJ residency at the legendary Frankfurt club Dorian Gray and his A&R work with the Harthouse/Eye labels Q and Music Research. On October 4th this year, Tom Wax released the album "Generation72", with 16 energetic tracks on his label Phuture Wax, which he founded in 1995. We look forward to his guest mix for the Ibiza World Club Tour radio show.
