“Murk-Mode” is the Techno/House focused alias of Johannesburg
based DJ/Producer André van Rooyen [Age 22]
From a very young age André has been fascinated by the sounds of electronic
music, having grown up with music from the likes of Faithless, Cosmic Gate,
Richie Hawtin, Mauro Picotto & many more.
By the age of 11 he realised his calling & so started to experiment with music
production. In 2017 he got his hands on some DJ gear
& started self-teaching.
By late 2020 he got into contact with Audiolab
a music production/DJ school based in Northgate, JHB
Since, he has become a resident DJ at Audiolab’s
weekly “Culture” event hosted in Sandton, playing
alongside some of SA’s best artists
